This large white leaner mirror delivers real presence — over two metres tall and nearly a metre and a half wide, it is the kind of piece that reshapes a room the moment you set it in place. Drawn from our Monksilver Collection, a line we return to often when customers ask for classic ornate character in a clean white finish.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a smooth white painted surface. Each corner carries a generously carved scroll motif with acanthus-leaf detailing, while smaller complementary carvings sit midway along the rails. A fine beaded inner edge runs the full perimeter, adding a subtle layer of texture before the glass begins. The profile is roughly 6 cm wide — substantial enough to frame the glass with authority, but not so deep that it overwhelms. In our experience, this blend of ornate carving and an all-white finish gives the mirror a shabby chic quality that pairs naturally with vintage furniture, French-country schemes, and softer neutral palettes. The glass itself is bevelled, catching light along its border and lending a gentle refinement you would not get from a plain edge.
Size & Placement
At 201 cm tall by 140 cm wide, this is an extra large white leaner mirror that commands attention. Propped against a bedroom wall beside a dressing table, it creates a full-length reflection with room to spare. In a living room, leaned behind a low console or sideboard, it adds depth and bounces daylight across the space. Hung in landscape above a fireplace or sofa, it works equally well as a dramatic vintage large wall mirror — the proportions are broad enough to anchor a feature wall without additional decoration. Weighing 40 kg, the mirror is reassuringly solid once positioned. If floor space is tight, wall-hanging in portrait keeps the same visual impact while freeing the floor entirely. We often suggest this for period homes, boutique hotel lobbies, or bridal suites where a generous, light-filled reflection makes all the difference.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang the mirror in either portrait or landscape orientation. Align your wall screws with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 40 kg, a two-person lift is essential, and we recommend fixing into solid masonry or reinforced stud points. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings rated for your wall type and the mirror’s weight. If you plan to lean the mirror rather than hang it, the flat bottom edge sits flush against the floor for a stable, secure lean against the wall.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
