This full length wall mirror black frame combines classic ornate styling with a bold, modern finish — the kind of piece that anchors a room rather than blending into it. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our hallway and living room customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a deep, uniform black with a soft satin sheen. Each corner carries a generous acanthus-leaf cartouche, while a beaded border runs the full inner perimeter, adding texture without over-complicating the profile. The moulding itself is approximately 6 cm wide — substantial enough to give the mirror presence, yet refined in its detailing. Behind the glass sits a wood-based backing board for rigidity and long-term stability.
The mirror glass is bevelled around the edge, catching light at an angle and giving the reflection a polished, layered quality you don’t get from a flat-cut panel. Overall, the effect is distinctly vintage yet grounded by the black finish, making this large full length black mirror equally at home in period and contemporary interiors.
Size & Placement
At 170 cm tall and 79 cm wide (with a depth of 6 cm including the frame), this is a generous rectangular full length wall mirror that provides a true head-to-toe reflection for most people. Hung in portrait above a narrow console table or at the end of a hallway, it opens up the sightline and makes the space feel significantly deeper. In our experience, a black wood full length mirror of this scale works particularly well against pale or neutral walls, where the dark frame creates a clean contrast.
Because the base is flat, you can also lean it against a wall at a gentle angle — a look we see chosen most often for bedrooms and dressing areas. Turned to landscape and mounted above a sofa or sideboard, it becomes a striking alternative to traditional artwork, as shown in the lifestyle image. The 17 kg weight is manageable for solid walls and well-secured stud partitions alike.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned to support both portrait and landscape hanging. Line up your wall screws with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — no wire, string, or chain is needed or recommended for a mirror of this weight. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate for your wall type; for plasterboard or stud walls, toggle bolts or specialist plasterboard anchors rated above 17 kg per point will give you a secure hold. We’d suggest having a second pair of hands for lifting the mirror into position.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
