This white ornate wall mirror brings a quiet sense of grandeur to any room without overwhelming the space. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our living-room and dining-room customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from a hardwood core overlaid with casting resin, allowing the ornate detailing to be crisp and consistent across every corner. Each corner carries a generous swept motif — scrolling leaves and shell-like flourishes — while the long edges are lined with a fine beaded trim that catches the light. The finish is a clean, semi-gloss white that reads as freshly painted rather than distressed, giving it a contemporary edge despite its traditional profile. At roughly 6 cm wide, the frame has enough presence to anchor the piece on a wall without feeling heavy-handed.
Behind the frame sits a bevelled glass panel. The bevel adds a subtle prismatic border around the reflection, lifting the mirror from purely functional to genuinely decorative. In our experience, this combination of resin moulding over solid timber produces a frame that holds its detail far better than lightweight polystyrene alternatives.
Size & Placement
At 110 cm tall and 79 cm wide, this is a generous antique white wall mirror — large enough to make a statement, yet slim enough to sit above most sideboards, console tables, or standard mantelpieces. Hung in portrait, it works particularly well in a hallway or dining room where you want to bounce natural light deeper into the space. Flip it to landscape and it becomes an elegant overmantle piece or a focal point above a bed.
The white finish pairs naturally with shabby chic and vintage interiors, but it also sits comfortably in more pared-back, modern schemes — especially against soft greys or neutral plaster walls. Customers tend to pair this with pale timber furniture or painted French-style pieces. Because the base is flat, you also have the option of leaning it on a deep shelf or mantel for a more relaxed arrangement.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the reverse — two positioned for portrait hanging and two for landscape — so you can choose your orientation without additional hardware. Position your wall screws to align with the centre of the relevant D-loops and hang the mirror directly. Do not use string, wire, or chain; the frame is designed to sit flush against the wall.
At 10 kg, it is manageable for two people during installation. Use fixings rated for your wall type — heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or appropriate plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
