This extra large floor mirror makes an immediate impression. At over two metres tall and nearly one and a half metres wide, it delivers the kind of generous, room-expanding reflection that smaller mirrors simply cannot match. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our bedroom and living room customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a deep, uniform matte black. Decorative acanthus-leaf carvings sit at each corner, while a fine beaded moulding runs along the inner edge — enough ornamental detail to feel characterful without overwhelming the room. The frame profile is around 6 cm wide, substantial enough to anchor the mirror visually yet refined in its proportions. Inside, the bevelled glass catches and redirects light at its edges, adding a subtle sparkle that lifts the overall appearance. If you are drawn to antique or vintage style mirrors but want something with a bolder, more contemporary colour palette, this large ornate leaner mirror bridges that gap neatly.
Size & Placement
At 201 cm tall and 140 cm wide, this is a genuinely extra large black floor mirror — we recommend standing it back a short distance and considering the sightlines from doorways and seating areas, because a mirror this size becomes a focal point wherever it sits. Its flat bottom edge means it can lean securely against a wall, which is the way we see most customers use it: propped at a gentle angle in a bedroom, a dressing room, or at the end of a hallway to draw the eye and double the sense of depth. It can also be wall-mounted in either portrait or landscape orientation, making it a striking extra large rectangular wall mirror above a long console table or sofa. In a living room it pairs beautifully with dark leather furniture and natural textures; in a hallway it bounces light from a nearby window and opens up a narrow space.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the reverse, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape. Position your wall screws to align with the centre of each D-loop, then hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 40 kg this is a substantial piece, so a two-person lift is essential and you will need heavy-duty fixings appropriate for your wall type (wall screws and rawl plugs are not included). For solid masonry walls, standard heavy-duty screw anchors will do the job; for stud or plasterboard walls, use specialist plasterboard fixings rated for the weight.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
