This large wall mirror wood frame combines classic proportions with delicate ornamental detail, all wrapped in a warm ivory finish that sits beautifully against both neutral and coloured walls. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our living room and bedroom customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, giving it the depth and definition of a traditional carved moulding at a manageable weight. A beaded inner edge runs the full perimeter, framing the bevelled glass with a subtle textural contrast, while acanthus-leaf scroll motifs at each corner and midpoint along the sides add an ornate flourish without overwhelming the piece. The ivory painted finish has a soft, lightly aged quality — not stark white, but a creamy tone with gentle tonal variation that lends it a vintage, shabby chic character. We often suggest this for rooms where a bright white frame would feel too clinical but a gold or silver would be too bold.
Size & Placement
At 140 cm tall and 109 cm wide, this is a generously proportioned large wood-framed wall mirror that works as a genuine focal point. Hung in portrait above a console table in a hallway, it draws the eye upward and makes even a modest entrance feel more open. In landscape orientation, it serves as a striking overmantle piece — at 109 cm wide it suits chimney breasts of standard width comfortably. The rectangular shape and ivory tone pair naturally with shabby chic or vintage interiors, country kitchens, and period living rooms. It also complements painted furniture in white, duck egg, or sage, if you are building a soft, layered scheme. With a flat bottom edge, this mirror can lean against a wall on a sturdy surface if you prefer a more relaxed, unfixed look.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang in either portrait or landscape. Simply align your wall screws with the D-loops and hang the mirror directly — no wire, string, or chain should be used. At 15 kg this is a solid piece, so we recommend a two-person lift during positioning and fixings rated for your wall type. For plasterboard or stud walls, heavy-duty anchors are essential; on solid masonry, standard rawl plugs and screws will do the job. Wall fixings are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
