This large ornate cream wall mirror brings a generous sweep of light and elegance to any room it enters. Drawn from our Monksilver Collection, a line we return to often when customers ask for classic ornate detail in a softer, neutral palette.
Design & Materials
The frame is crafted from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a warm cream with subtle tonal variation that lends it a gently aged, shabby chic character. Each corner carries a deeply sculpted acanthus-leaf cartouche, while a fine beaded rope moulding runs the full perimeter — details you can see clearly in close-up and that give the piece its unmistakably vintage feel. The frame profile sits approximately 6 cm deep and 6 cm wide, offering enough presence to anchor the mirror on a large wall without looking heavy. Behind the frame, the glass features a bevelled edge that catches and refracts light, adding a polished touch to the overall antique aesthetic.
Size & Placement
At 170 cm tall and 109 cm wide, this is a full-length mirror that provides a true head-to-toe reflection. In our experience, a rectangular large wall mirror of this scale works particularly well leaned against a wall in a bedroom or dressing area — its flat bottom sits flush on the floor for a relaxed, continental feel. Hung in portrait above a console table in a hallway, it draws the eye upward and opens the space considerably. Flip it to landscape and it becomes a striking overmantle piece, easily spanning a standard 120 cm fireplace surround. At 28 kg, it has a reassuring solidity that suits period and country-style interiors alike, pairing naturally with painted wood furniture, linen upholstery, and warm metallics.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Align your wall screws with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. Given its 28 kg weight, we strongly advise a two-person lift and fixings rated for your specific wall type; screws and rawl plugs are not included. For stud walls, toggle or anchor fixings will provide the safest hold.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
