This large oval wall mirror brings a quiet sense of space and elegance to any room. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for a pared-back, contemporary look that fits almost any interior.
Design & Materials
What makes this mirror distinctive is what it leaves out. There is no frame at all — just a smooth, polished oval of clear glass with a slim, almost invisible edge. The result is a piece that feels weightless on the wall, reflecting light and colour without introducing any competing material or finish. The backing is solid wood, finished in black, which gives the mirror its rigidity and keeps the profile remarkably thin at just 2 cm deep. In our experience, a frameless oval is one of the most versatile shapes you can put on a wall: it softens the hard lines of a room without demanding attention the way an ornate frame might.
Size & Placement
At 120 cm tall and 50 cm wide, this is a genuinely large oval frameless mirror — tall enough to use as a head-to-waist check in a hallway, yet narrow enough to fit beside a doorway or between two pieces of furniture. It works particularly well above a console table in an entrance hall, where the elongated oval draws the eye upward and makes the space feel taller. In a living room, try it on a feature wall alongside mid-century modern furniture — the frameless glass complements clean-lined sofas and low sideboards without competing for attention. It also makes a striking addition to a bedroom, mounted beside a wardrobe as a modern large wall mirror that opens up the room. Because it can be hung in landscape as well as portrait, you could position it horizontally above a bed or sofa for a different effect entirely. The narrow 50 cm width means it tucks neatly into spaces where a wider plain wall mirror would feel cramped.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loop fixings on the wooden backing, positioned to allow both portrait and landscape hanging. You simply align your wall screws with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — no wire, chain, or string should be used. At 10 kg, it is substantial but manageable; a second pair of hands will make positioning easier, especially if you are marking screw points at the same time. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate for your wall type — heavy-duty wall plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard fixings if you are mounting on a stud wall.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
