Pure lines, no distractions
This frameless oval wall mirror strips the design back to what matters: a generously proportioned reflective surface with soft, rounded edges and no frame to interrupt the view. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for understated modern style — it brings light and a sense of openness to any room it occupies.
Design & Materials
The elongated oval shape — sometimes called a capsule or stadium shape — sits somewhere between a traditional oval and a rectangle, giving it a contemporary edge that works particularly well in modern and mid-century schemes. The glass is clear and unadorned, with no bevel, letting the mirror’s outline do the talking. Behind the reflective surface, a wooden backing provides structural rigidity and a solid mounting base. Without a frame, the mirror appears to float against the wall, creating that effortlessly minimal look we see chosen most often for pared-back living spaces, bedrooms, and boutique hotel rooms.
Size & Placement
At 80 cm tall and 50 cm wide, this modern wall mirror occupies a comfortable middle ground — large enough to be a focal point above a chest of drawers or console table, yet compact enough not to overwhelm a narrow hallway or compact bedroom. In our experience, this size works especially well above furniture that sits between 70 and 90 cm wide, leaving a balanced margin on each side. It also makes a striking addition to a bathroom wall or dressing area where you need a clear head-and-shoulders reflection without the bulk of a full-length piece. Because of its portrait-only orientation, the elongated shape naturally draws the eye upward, which can help a room with standard ceiling heights feel a touch taller.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror arrives fitted with two D-loops on the wooden backing, spaced vertically for portrait hanging. To install, mark two screw positions on your wall to match the D-loop centres, drive in your fixings, and hook the mirror straight on — no wire or chain required. At 8 kg it is a manageable one-person hang in most cases, but having a second pair of hands to hold the mirror while you check level is always worthwhile. For plasterboard or stud walls, use appropriate cavity fixings rated for the weight; for masonry, standard rawl plugs and screws will do the job. Wall fixings are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
