This vintage free standing full length mirror brings a sense of quiet elegance to any room it occupies. A recent addition to our Cannington Collection range, it was chosen for its richly detailed frame and warm cream finish — a combination that pairs effortlessly with shabby chic, antique, and country-inspired interiors.
Design & Materials
The frame is crafted from hardwood and casting resin, which allows for the intricate moulded detailing visible across every surface. Each corner features a generous acanthus-leaf cartouche, while the mid-rail points carry smaller scrolled motifs that echo the same flowing pattern. Running along the inner edge of the frame, a continuous beaded border adds texture and draws the eye inward to the clear mirror glass. The finish is a soft, warm cream with subtle tonal variation in the recesses of the carvings — not a flat painted surface, but one that catches the light with a gentle, almost matte lustre. The overall frame width is approximately 5 cm, giving the piece a refined profile without feeling flimsy.
Size & Placement
At 168 cm tall and 46 cm wide, this full-length standing mirror is deliberately slender. In our experience, this narrow silhouette makes it especially practical for bedrooms where a wider leaner mirror would overwhelm the available wall space. It sits comfortably beside a chest of drawers, next to a wardrobe, or tucked into a corner of a dressing area. The flat base means it can lean securely against a wall, and its 11 kg weight keeps it stable once positioned. It also works well in a hallway for last-minute outfit checks, or propped against the wall in a guest room to add both function and a decorative lift. The cream tones sit naturally alongside white-painted furniture, linen fabrics, and pale wood — a combination we often suggest for rooms with a vintage or shabby chic feel.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror arrives with a back stand fitted to the rear, ready to use as a free standing piece straight from the box. Simply unfold the stand on a level surface and lean the mirror at a gentle angle against the wall. If you later decide to wall-hang it, the back stand can be unscrewed and replaced with suitable fixings such as keyhole plates or D-loops secured to the solid hardwood frame. At 11 kg it is manageable for one person to position, though a second pair of hands is always helpful when adjusting the angle to get the lean just right.
