Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from hardwood and casting resin, giving the ornate moulding crisp definition while keeping weight manageable at 15 kg. A satin-sheen gold finish coats every surface, with subtle tonal variation in the carved recesses that lends an antique quality. Each corner features a bold acanthus-leaf cartouche with shell and scroll detailing, while a continuous beaded trim runs along the inner edge — a hallmark of traditional gilded mirrors. The frame profile is approximately 6 cm wide, substantial enough to anchor the eye yet proportioned so the bevelled mirror glass remains the star. That full-perimeter bevel catches light at the edges, adding a refined, layered finish.
Size & Placement
At 140 cm tall and 109 cm wide, this large ornate gold mirror commands attention without overwhelming a standard room. Hung in landscape, it sits beautifully above a fireplace or sideboard — in our experience, dining rooms benefit most, where reflected candlelight adds atmosphere in the evening. In portrait, it works equally well in a hallway or behind a console table to open up a narrower space. Because the base is flat, you can also lean it against a wall for a relaxed feel. The antique gold tone pairs naturally with dark woods, deep greens, and navy upholstery, though it lifts neutral schemes too. Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops come pre-fitted on the back — two positioned for landscape and two for portrait. Align your wall screws with the centre of the relevant pair and hang directly; do not use string, wire, or chain. At 15 kg, a two-person lift is sensible. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings rated for your wall type.
