This large white shabby chic mirror combines generous proportions with refined ornamental detail, making it a striking focal point for any room that needs a lift of light and elegance. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our bedroom and hallway customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood with casting-resin mouldings, finished in a clean, solid white with a subtle gloss. Scrolling acanthus-leaf carvings gather at each corner, while a delicate beaded inner border runs the full perimeter — details that give the mirror a vintage, ornate character without feeling heavy-handed. The glass itself is bevelled, adding a gentle light-catching edge that frames your reflection with a touch of depth. In our experience, this style of white ornate leaner mirror pairs naturally with soft linens, pale wood furniture, and shabby chic or French country interiors, though its neutral finish also sits comfortably alongside more contemporary schemes.
Size & Placement
At 170 cm tall and 109 cm wide, this is a true full-length mirror — tall enough for a head-to-toe view, yet proportioned so it won’t overwhelm a standard wall. Its flat bottom edge means it can lean safely against a wall, making it an ideal bedroom leaner beside a wardrobe or dressing area. Wall-mounted in portrait, it works beautifully above a console table in a hallway, bouncing light from a nearby window to open the space. Flip it to landscape and you have a generous overmantle mirror for a living room or dining room. The frame depth is approximately 6 cm, so it sits neatly against the wall without protruding too far. At 28 kg it has a reassuring solidity — the weight comes from genuine hardwood construction rather than lightweight MDF, which contributes to long-term stability whether leaning or hung.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Simply align your wall screws with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall type: standard plugs and screws for solid masonry, or heavy-duty plasterboard fixings for stud walls. Given the 28 kg weight, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning the mirror.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
