This white ornate rectangular wall mirror pairs classical carved detailing with a crisp white finish that lifts and brightens any room. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for traditional elegance in a lighter palette.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, giving it the depth and weight of a solid timber piece with sharply defined decorative detail. Each corner carries a generous acanthus-leaf cartouche, connected by gently swept edges and a fine beaded inner border that frames the glass with quiet precision. The entire frame is finished in a uniform glossy white — bright rather than antique — so it reads as fresh and contemporary despite its ornate styling. We recommend this finish when you want the texture of vintage moulding without the aged patina: it pairs beautifully with shabby chic, coastal, and modern Scandi schemes alike. The glass is clear and un-bevelled, offering a clean, wide reflection area within the frame’s 6 cm profile.
Size & Placement
At 91 cm tall and 66 cm wide, this is a versatile medium-sized mirror that suits a broad range of wall spaces. Hung portrait above a console table or hallway sideboard, it adds height and reflected light without dominating the wall. Switch to landscape and it becomes a handsome overmantle piece — in our experience, a white vintage wall mirror of this proportion sits particularly well above fireplaces in period living rooms, balancing the architectural detail of a mantelpiece. It also works well in bedrooms above a chest of drawers, or in a dressing area where you need a clear head-and-shoulders reflection. Because the base is flat, you could lean it on a shelf or mantelpiece for a more relaxed, layered look — useful if you prefer not to drill.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives with four D-loops pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Line your wall screws up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 5 kg it is manageable for one person to lift, though a second pair of hands makes marking and levelling far easier. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate for your wall type: standard plugs for solid masonry, or specialist plasterboard anchors for stud walls.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
