This vintage full length wall mirror brings a rich sense of occasion to any room it enters. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our hallway and bedroom customers, it pairs generous proportions with fine ornamental detail that catches the light beautifully.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, giving it both structural strength and the ability to hold intricate moulded detailing — scrollwork corners, beaded inner edges, and delicate acanthus-leaf motifs along each rail. The gold finish has a warm, softly burnished tone rather than a flat metallic sheen; in our experience, this slightly muted quality lets it sit comfortably alongside both antique furniture and more contemporary pieces. The glass itself is bevelled around its full perimeter, adding a subtle light-catching edge that lifts the mirror’s presence on the wall. A wood-based backing board completes the construction, keeping the overall weight at a manageable 17 kg for a mirror of this stature.
Size & Placement
At 170 cm tall and 79 cm wide, this is a true full length gold wall mirror — tall enough to give you a head-to-toe reflection, yet not so wide that it overwhelms a standard wall. Hung in portrait, it works well at the end of a hallway or beside a wardrobe in a bedroom, bouncing light deep into the room. Flip it to landscape and it becomes an elegant ornate gold overmantle piece above a fireplace or console table in a living room. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it against a wall as a floor-standing mirror, propped securely at a gentle angle — a look that suits both period properties and modern open-plan spaces. With a frame depth of 6 cm, it sits with enough presence to feel substantial without protruding too far from the wall.
Hanging & Installation
This rectangular full length wall mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back, pre-positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Simply line up your wall screws with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — no wire, string, or chain is needed, and none should be used. At 17 kg, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning, and you should choose fixings appropriate to your wall type; rawl plugs and screws are not included. For plasterboard or stud walls, specialist heavy-duty fixings will give you the most secure hold.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
