This antique gold mirror rectangular wall mirror brings a warm, classical richness to any room it enters. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for ornate, traditional character at a versatile medium size.
Design & Materials
The frame is crafted from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a brushed antique gold that catches the light with a soft lustre rather than a high-shine gloss. In our experience, this kind of tonal warmth sits more comfortably alongside everyday interiors than a mirror-bright gilt would. The moulding features a gently curved profile with decorative acanthus-leaf carvings at each corner and elegant floral detailing along the sides. A fine beaded inner border runs the full perimeter, adding a layer of texture that frames the clear glass beautifully. At roughly 6 cm wide, the frame has enough presence to make a statement without overwhelming the mirror glass itself. There is a subtle antiqued quality to the finish — darker undertones sit beneath the gold, lending the piece a vintage character that pairs naturally with antique, ornate, or shabby chic décor schemes.
Size & Placement
Overall dimensions are 107 cm high × 76 cm wide × 5 cm deep, with a weight of 8 kg. This is a medium-wide wall mirror that offers genuine visual impact without demanding a large expanse of wall. At 107 cm tall, it works well above a console table in a hallway or centred over a bedroom chest of drawers without dominating the wall. In landscape orientation, it makes an excellent decorative wall mirror in gold above a sofa or mantelpiece, where the rectangular proportions sit neatly within a traditional chimney breast. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it on a sturdy surface — a deep shelf or a solid mantel — if wall-mounting isn’t practical. We often suggest this for period living rooms and bedrooms where you want a vintage antique gold mirror that reflects light and opens up the space, but it works equally well in a boutique hotel room or salon waiting area.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror comes fitted with four D-loops on the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops, then hang the mirror directly. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings suitable for your wall type. At 8 kg, it is manageable for one person to lift into position, though having a second pair of hands to check alignment is always worthwhile. For stud walls, ensure your fixings anchor into the timber stud or use appropriate plasterboard anchors rated well above the mirror’s weight.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
