This full length silver ornate mirror brings a generous sweep of reflected light and classical elegance to any room. Drawn from our Monksilver Collection range, a line we return to often when customers ask for traditional silver frames with real visual weight.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from a hardwood core with casting-resin moulding, finished in a warm, lightly brushed silver that avoids the coldness of a high-chrome tone. Each corner carries a bold acanthus-leaf cartouche, while smaller shell-and-scroll motifs punctuate the mid-points of every rail. Running the full inner edge, a fine beaded trim provides a crisp border between frame and glass — a detail that catches light beautifully at different angles. The mirror glass itself is bevelled, adding a subtle prismatic edge that lifts this decorative silver mirror beyond the everyday. A wood-based backing board completes the construction, keeping the piece rigid and protecting the silvering.
Size & Placement
At 170 cm tall and 79 cm wide, this is a proper full length wall mirror — tall enough for a head-to-toe view, yet not so wide that it overwhelms a standard hallway or bedroom wall. The flat bottom edge means it can lean securely against a wall without a stand, which customers tend to pair with a console table or low sideboard for a layered look. In a living room, try it propped beside a fireplace to bounce light from a window opposite. Hung in landscape above a sofa or bed, the rectangular shape becomes an impressive overmantle-style centrepiece. With a frame depth of 6 cm and a weight of 17 kg, it has genuine presence without feeling unwieldy. The vintage silver finish sits comfortably alongside antique furniture, warm neutrals, and muted metallics — a silver full length wall mirror that complements rather than competes with the room around it.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned to allow both portrait and landscape hanging. Line up your wall screws with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate for your wall type: heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard fixings for stud walls. At 17 kg, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning the mirror, particularly if wall-mounting at height.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
