This silver vintage full length mirror pairs a tall, slender silhouette with richly ornate detailing — a combination that brings understated grandeur to any room without overwhelming it. A recent addition to our Cannington Collection range, it was chosen for its generous height and finely worked frame.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a warm, champagne-toned silver with a subtle brushed quality that catches the light softly rather than reflecting it harshly. Each corner features a bold acanthus-leaf cartouche with a raised central medallion, while smaller scroll and floral motifs sit at the mid-points of all four sides. A continuous beaded inner edge runs the full perimeter, giving the eye a clean border between frame and glass. The mirror glass itself is clear and unadorned — no bevel — keeping the focus on the decorative frame. In our experience, this style of ornate silver frame sits comfortably alongside both neutral and warmer palettes, making it easy to integrate into existing décor.
Size & Placement
At 168 cm tall and 46 cm wide, this is a genuinely full length freestanding mirror that gives you a head-to-toe reflection while occupying a modest footprint — just 46 cm of wall space. The flat bottom edge means it leans steadily against a wall at a slight angle, which also adds a relaxed, lived-in feel to a room. We often suggest this for bedrooms and dressing areas where you need a practical dressing mirror that doubles as a decorative accent. It also works well in a narrow hallway, where its slim profile won’t encroach on the walkway. If you’re furnishing a boutique hotel room or a bridal salon, the vintage standing mirror aesthetic adds character without looking heavy-handed. At 5 cm deep and 10 kg in weight, it’s substantial enough to feel well-made, yet light enough for one person to reposition comfortably.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror arrives with a back stand fitted to the rear, ready to use as a freestanding piece straight away. If you later decide to wall-hang it — perhaps to free up floor space or create an antique full length wall feature — simply unscrew the back stand and attach suitable fixings such as D-loops or keyhole plates to the hardwood backing board. For solid masonry walls, standard heavy-duty screws and wall plugs will do the job; for stud walls, aim to fix into the timber studs for a secure hold. At 10 kg, the mirror is manageable for one person during installation, though having a second pair of hands to hold it in position while you mark fixing points makes the job easier and more precise.
