Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This gold arch metal wall mirror pairs a clean, contemporary silhouette with a subtle architectural detail that lifts it above plainer designs. A recent addition to our Somerton Collection range, it was chosen for its versatile indoor-outdoor rating and refined twin-ridged frame — a combination that works just as naturally beside garden planting as it does above a hallway console.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, finished in a warm, matte gold tone that has a soft, understated sheen rather than a high polish. Look closely and you’ll notice the twin-ridged channel running around the inside edge of the frame — a stepped detail that adds depth and visual interest without making the mirror feel ornate. The frame itself is slim, roughly 2.5 cm wide, keeping the focus on the generous mirror glass inside. The glass is clear and un-bevelled, giving a crisp, undistorted reflection. A plastic sheet backing board seals the rear, helping to protect against moisture — important for a piece rated for outdoor placement. In our experience, this type of matte gold finish sits comfortably alongside both warm wood tones and cooler greys, making it an easy match for modern interiors or contemporary garden schemes.
Size & Placement
At 80 cm tall and 40 cm wide, this is a compact metal arch mirror that suits spaces where a larger piece might overwhelm. Indoors, it works particularly well above a narrow console table, beside a front door, or as an accent in a bedroom — the proportions sit neatly between a bedside lamp and a pendant light without dominating the wall. For garden use, try it mounted on a fence panel or rendered wall to create the illusion of depth and bounce light into a shaded corner. The flat base means you could also lean it on a shelf or mantelpiece for a more relaxed look, though at 10 kg you’ll want a sturdy surface. Customers tend to pair this with greenery and natural materials outdoors, or with gold-toned hardware and modern furniture inside.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so installation is straightforward: simply drive two screws into the wall at the correct spacing and hook the mirror on. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings suited to your wall type, whether that’s solid brick, breeze block, or timber fence posts. At 10 kg, this is a manageable weight for one person, though having a second pair of hands to check alignment is always helpful. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror; the keyhole slots are designed for a secure, flush fit against the wall.
