This silver ornate leaner mirror brings a warm, antique-inspired presence to any room. A recent addition to our Cannington Collection range, it pairs traditional detailing with a generous full-length scale that suits both period and contemporary interiors.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a champagne-toned silver with subtle warm undertones — closer to antique silver than bright chrome. Each corner features a raised floral cartouche, and a fine beaded moulding runs along the inner edge, framing the clear glass with a crisp line of detail. The profile is approximately 6 cm wide, gently swept with a smooth, lightly burnished surface that catches the light without being overly glossy. In our experience, this muted silver tone sits comfortably alongside both warm neutrals and cool greys, making it one of the more versatile ornate frames in this size bracket.
Size & Placement
At 168 cm tall and 107 cm wide, this is a substantial silver ornate large mirror that commands attention without overwhelming a standard room. Leaned against a wall in a living room or bedroom, it creates a relaxed, boutique feel — the flat bottom edge sits flush on the floor for a stable lean. Hung in portrait above a console table in a hallway, it draws the eye upward and bounces light deep into the space. Switch to landscape orientation and it works beautifully as a vintage large wall mirror above a sofa or bed. The 5 cm depth keeps the frame close to the wall whether hung or leaned. If you are working with a room that needs both light and a focal point, a large wall antique mirror of this scale is difficult to beat.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang the mirror in either portrait or landscape. Line your wall screws up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 18 kg, this is a two-person lift; have someone steady the frame while you mark your fixings. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate for your wall type — heavy-duty anchors for plasterboard, standard plugs and screws for solid masonry.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
