This long vintage mirror brings a warm, gilded presence to any room it enters. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for ornate gold character at a practical size.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a deep, lustrous gold with subtle dark undertones that catch the light beautifully. Ornate corner cartouches and mid-rail scrollwork sit proud of the frame, while a continuous beaded inner border draws the eye toward clear, undistorted glass. The moulding is generous — approximately 6 cm wide — giving the piece a substantial, antique feel without overwhelming a narrow wall. Up close, the gold finish has a lightly brushed quality with darker recesses that lend an aged, time-worn warmth rather than a flat, modern shine. If your décor already features antique or decorative accents, this large gold ornate wall mirror will sit right at home.
Size & Placement
At 137 cm tall and 46 cm wide, this is a genuinely full-length piece — tall enough to check an outfit from head to toe, yet narrow enough to slip onto a landing wall or beside a wardrobe without dominating the space. In our experience, a mirror of this proportion works especially well in a bedroom alcove, at the end of a hallway, or flanking a dressing table. Because the base is flat, you can also lean it against a wall for a relaxed, continental look in a corner of a living room or boutique changing area. At 5 cm deep and 10 kg, it has a reassuringly solid feel — the hardwood-backed construction keeps it rigid and warp-resistant over time. If you prefer landscape orientation, the decorative gold wall mirror is equally striking hung above a console table or sofa, doubling the sense of width in a compact room.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted on the back of the frame — two positioned for portrait hanging, two for landscape — so you can switch orientation to suit your space. Position your wall screws to align with the centre of the corresponding D-loops, then hang the mirror directly onto them. Do not use string, wire, or chain. At 10 kg, a two-person lift is the safest approach when positioning the mirror on the wall. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; use fixings rated for your wall type (plasterboard, brick, or stud). For plasterboard, toggle or anchor fixings rated above the mirror’s weight are essential.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
