Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This black half moon arch garden mirror pairs a distinctive semi-circular shape with a clean, industrial aesthetic that works beautifully in both outdoor and interior settings. A recent addition to our Somerton Collection range, it was chosen for its generous width and the understated confidence of its matte black steel frame.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a matte black powder-coat finish — smooth, uniform, and low-sheen, absorbing light rather than reflecting it. The profile is slim at roughly 2.5 cm wide, keeping attention on the mirror glass rather than the surround. Up close, there is a subtle stepped detail where the frame meets the glass, adding a clean edge without unnecessary ornamentation. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, giving a crisp, undistorted reflection. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear. In our experience, a wall mirror with a black metal frame like this is one of the most versatile finishes you can choose — it pairs naturally with exposed brick, timber cladding, painted render, and modern panelling alike.
Size & Placement
At 90 cm tall and 125 cm wide, this is a genuinely broad half-moon mirror — its landscape-oriented arch fills wall space horizontally rather than vertically. That makes it an excellent choice for mounting on a garden wall or fence, where it reflects foliage and sky to create the illusion of extra depth in a smaller courtyard or patio. Indoors, it sits beautifully above a sideboard or console table, the wide arch echoing the proportions of the furniture beneath. The flat bottom edge also means it can lean against a wall on a mantelpiece or deep shelf. Because this black arch wall mirror is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, you could position it on a sheltered patio, inside a conservatory, or at the end of a garden path. Customers tend to pair this style with modern or industrial interiors — dark metal shelving, concrete planters, raw-wood furniture — though its simplicity suits pared-back contemporary schemes just as well.
Hanging & Installation
Two keyhole fixings on the back — one on each side — let you hook the mirror onto a pair of screws. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate for your wall type (masonry plugs for brick or stone, plasterboard anchors for stud walls). At 10 kg, one person can lift it comfortably, but a second pair of hands helps when marking screw positions and checking the mirror is level. If mounting outdoors, use rust-resistant screws and plugs rated for exterior use.
