Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This arch wall mirror in black brings the classic silhouette of a Georgian window to your garden, hallway, or living room. Part of our Honiton Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden mirror customers, it pairs architectural scale with a clean, contemporary finish that works across a surprisingly wide range of settings.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a matte black powder-coat finish — smooth and uniform, with just enough depth to read convincingly as an ironwork window from a distance. Thin metal glazing bars divide the glass into a grid of rectangular panes below a smaller arched panel at the top, echoing the proportions of a traditional Palladian window. Each pane is clear, non-bevelled mirror glass that delivers a bright, undistorted reflection — ideal for bouncing light around a shaded garden or a dimly lit hallway. The back is sealed with a rigid plastic sheet, protecting the silvering from moisture and making the piece suitable for outdoor use year-round. In our experience, this type of sealed-back construction holds up well through British winters provided the frame is wiped down occasionally to prevent standing water around the edges.
Size & Placement
At 120 cm tall and 80 cm wide, this is a genuinely large black metal mirror — substantial enough to serve as a focal point on a garden wall or in an entrance hall, yet its slim 1.6 cm depth keeps it from protruding noticeably. Outdoors, position it on a brick or rendered wall where it can reflect planting and sky, creating the illusion of a window into another space. Indoors, it sits beautifully above a console table or sideboard without overwhelming the furniture below. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it against a wall at floor level for a relaxed, modern large wall mirror look if you prefer not to drill. Its black frame pairs naturally with both industrial and Victorian interiors — think exposed brick, dark joinery, or muted heritage paint colours.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so installation is straightforward: mark your wall, drive in two screws at the correct spacing, and hook the mirror on. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this piece. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — choose fixings appropriate for your wall type (masonry anchors for brick or stone, heavy-duty plasterboard fixings for stud walls). At 12 kg, it is manageable for one person to lift, but we recommend a second pair of hands to hold the mirror steady while you check alignment before settling it onto the screws.
