Built for the garden, loved indoors too
This large black window mirror brings real architectural presence wherever you place it. Part of our Honiton Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and hallway customers, it pairs a generous 140 × 65 cm arch shape with a multi-pane layout that echoes the look of a period window — a style we see chosen most often for adding depth and light to walled gardens and narrow interior spaces alike.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a hand-applied black finish that has been deliberately distressed to reveal warm gold-bronze undertones along the edges and high points. Up close, this gives the frame a lived-in, almost reclaimed quality that suits both industrial and Victorian-inspired settings. Three vertical bars and five horizontal bars divide the glass into individual panes, while a smaller decorative arch sits inside the crown of the frame, adding an extra layer of detail. Each pane holds a clear, unbevelled mirror panel backed by a plastic sheet board. The overall effect is of a black metal window mirror with genuine character — not a flat, factory-perfect finish, but something with warmth and texture that pairs naturally with exposed brick, stone, or rendered garden walls.
Size & Placement
At 140 cm tall and 65 cm wide, this is a large window mirror for wall spaces that need a focal point without overwhelming the surroundings. Outdoors, it works particularly well mounted on a boundary wall or fence panel, reflecting greenery and sky to make a compact patio or courtyard feel considerably more open. In our experience, positioning it among climbing plants or flanked by tall planters creates the convincing illusion of a real arched window. Indoors, it sits comfortably above a console table in a hallway or at the end of a narrow landing where natural light is scarce. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it against a wall if you prefer a relaxed, grounded look — useful in a bedroom, boot room, or conservatory. At just 4 cm deep, the profile stays slim against the wall. Because it is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, you can move it between spaces as your décor evolves.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back — one on each side — so you can simply hook it onto screws driven into your wall. At 15 kg it is a substantial piece, so we recommend a two-person lift when positioning it. Use heavy-duty fixings appropriate for your wall type: rawl plugs and coach screws for masonry, or suitable plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror — the keyhole slots are designed for a secure, flush-to-wall fit that keeps the frame stable even in an exposed garden position.
